10+ years helping high achieving, low-income graduates

TanSAF formerly TanSAO is a non-profit organization that its main objective is to assist Tanzanian students with obtaining admission and financial aid in universities outside their home country.

The organization’s resource center provides free access to university materials and information and also assists students with registration for the often-required standardized tests. (ACT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, TOEFL, and IELTS)

Hats off to Alex Mbogo, from Kibaha high school who was the number 1 best performing student among all the form 6 NECTA 2020 candidates, for being accepted into the Yale-NUS college which was established as a collaboration between Yale University and the National University of Singapore.

Huge congratulations to Asterius Mayaya, a Mzumbe Secondary School graduate who was among the top 10 best performing students in the 2020 form 6 NECTA examinations, for being accepted into the New York University in Abu Dhabi. It was an honor supporting this young man throughout his college application process.

Salute to Bryson Jandwa, a scholarship student from Feza Boys’ High school, for being accepted early into Princeton University on a full-ride scholarship. His remarkable achievements and exemplary drive will surely make him a great addition to the Princeton community.

Huge congratulations to Abraham Chandafa, a Mzumbe secondary school graduate, for being accepted to The University of Hong Kong on a full-ride scholarship! Indeed, his remarkable persistence and perseverance were important elements of this amazing accomplishment of his.

Massive Congratulations to Perucy Astus Mussiba from Canossa High School, who was the number 1 best performing student among all the Form 6 NECTA 2021 candidates, for being accepted into Tufts University through the Early Decision II round!

TanSAF is a member of the HALI Access Network. The Network is an association of non-profit organizations in Africa that work with high-achieving, low-incoming (HALI) students to access international higher education opportunities.

ALUMNI WHEREABOUTS

Over the span of more than 10 years that TanSAO (which is now TanSAF) has helped Tanzanian students gain admission to different universities, all of our students have gone on to successfully complete their undergraduate studies. Most are currently working for various organizations – tech industries, consulting companies, biotechnology institutions, and many others – in the US and Canada while a significant number have returned to Tanzania to establish themselves in the country. Others have gone on to pursue their Masters and Ph.D. studies. We are very happy with our program alumni who are making positive impacts wherever they are and leaving lasting footprints wherever they have been.
