10+ years helping high achieving, low-income graduates
TanSAF, formerly TanSAO, is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to assist Tanzanian students in obtaining admission and financial aid at universities outside their home country. The organization’s resource center provides free access to university materials and information. Also, we help students register for commonly required standardized tests, including the ACT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, TOEFL, and IELTS.

Testimonials
Hear from our students
I had limited access to preparation materials, financial and educational support for my application. TanSAF offered me guidance in presenting a well-rounded profile that not only highlighted my academic achievements but also emphasized my involvement and passion for biomedical engineering.

I believe TanSAF inspires many Tanzanian students to dream big. Every student who joins with a desire to build a better future for their communities or contribute to their personal growth comes from a background where there are other students like them. Through this empowerment, TanSAF creates a continuous cycle of inspiration and motivation.

Words alone cannot fully capture the depth of my gratitude towards TanSAF for this incredible opportunity. This journey has been a testament to the fact that every experience—whether joyful or challenging—carries valuable lessons that shape us into who we are meant to become. I have come to appreciate that growth is found in every step we take, and this opportunity is no exception. With every new challenge, I am reminded that learning never stops, and for that, I am truly grateful.

Referring to TanSAF as just another organization that helps with application awareness is a poor representation of what Tansaf has helped me become today. From building relationships with peers to sharpening my communication, leadership and commitment skills; its safe to say that TanSAF has become family and my safe place as it continues to play such a great role in who I am today. With great love and appreciation I continue to work with TanSAF with the great assurance of a bright successful future. I would recommend it to anyone.

TanSAF provided me with crucial support at a critical moment in my life. The opportunity afforded to me by accessing their resources, training, and network opened up doors in my life that I will always be grateful for. Everyday was an occasion to strive for greater heights surrounded by individuals who cared deeply for their community and harbored a passion for learning. At TanSAF, I learned how to run. How could I walk as I chased my dreams?

TanSAF Senior Cohort Program showed me the value of a conducive environment. In the end, I earned much more than I could have bargained for: a renewed passion for personal growth, friends who have heightened and refined my awareness and appreciation for society and its diversity, and the ticket to an extraordinary next four years of my life.

I am at a loss for words with what TanSAF has helped me with. Beyond assisting me with my college application, TanSAF has offered me a community that I am profoundly grateful for. A community that I am assured I can look back to and that continues to inspire me to this day.

The most amazing outcome of my experience at TanSAF is that every day I got to rediscover and reform the limits of my potential. I have so much confidence in my ability now, and I believe I am ready to contribute to a community as large as Yale.

Participating in TanSAF’s Junior Cohort was an incredibly enriching experience, surrounded by amazing colleagues who brought a challenging yet supportive environment. This collaborative atmosphere not only pushed me to grow personally and professionally. I believe and hope that TanSAF’s program will have an increasingly profound impact on the future generations of young Tanzanians, empowering them to dream big and shape our country and the world as it did for me.
